THA Recognizes Rep. Andrew Farmer as a 2022 Hospital Hero

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Rep. Andrew Farmer (R-Sevierville) as a 2022 THA Hospital Hero for his dedication and work on behalf of hospitals in Tennessee.

THA Hospital Hero Awards recognize lawmakers who prioritize policy issues that contribute to the health and wellness of all Tennesseans through support for hospitals. Rep. Farmer was presented the 2022 award at LeConte Medical Center, with hospital and Covenant Health leadership in attendance.

“Rep. Farmer’s strong support for common-sense approaches to managing the COVID-19 pandemic quickly made him a champion for hospitals and healthcare providers,” said Wendy Long, M.D., THA president and CEO. “We are grateful for his willingness to engage and lead on these issues.”

As chairman of the House Civil Justice Committee, Rep. Farmer worked with hospitals to ensure legislation heard in his committee did not adversely affect      the delivery of healthcare. His efforts are critical to support patient care and hospitals, including LeConte Medical Center.

“We Rep. Farmer is a respected legislator in the state House and a proven friend to hospitals, said Aaron Burns, President and Chief Administrative Officer at LeConte Medical Center. The people of Sevier County are fortunate to have such a strong leader representing their interests, and we are deeply appreciative of his service.”
