Using the CDC’s TAP Strategy to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections: Running and Understanding TAP Reports
June 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Plan now to attend “Using the CDC’s TAP Strategy to Prevent Healthcare-Associated Infections: Running and Understanding TAP Reports” webinar on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 11:00am to 12:30pm CT. The presenters are Katie Coutts White, MPH, (Health Scientist, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, Prevention and Response Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and Rashad Arcement, MSPH (Public Health Analyst, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, Surveillance Branch).
This webinar will focus on the first component of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Targeted Assessment for Prevention (TAP) strategy: running TAP reports in the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) database to identify facilities and specific units with an excess burden of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Learn how to interpret and begin using these reports to drive improvement in your organization.
The TAP strategy is a framework for quality improvement developed by the CDC to use data for action to prevent HAIs. The TAP strategy consists of three components: 1) running TAP reports in the NHSN to target healthcare facilities and specific units with an excess burden of HAIs; 2) administering TAP facility assessment tools to identify gaps in infection prevention in the targeted locations and 3) accessing infection prevention resources within the TAP implementation guides to address those gaps. For more information on TAP, go to https://www.cdc.gov/hai/prevent/tap.html. Please join us for this live webinar to hear from and interact directly with CDC TAP experts about how to run and use these reports.
