THA’s Tennessee Center for Patient Safety (TCPS) was launched in 2007 with the purpose of advancing the adoption of proven evidence-based strategies that improve the reliability, safety and quality of care received in Tennessee’s hospitals.
TCPS focuses on a commitment by the THA Board of Directors of “zero preventable harm” and the Partnership for Patients goals of a 40 percent reduction in hospital-acquired conditions and a 20 percent reduction in preventable readmissions. TCPS works with 126 Tennessee hospitals through various programs and initiatives designed to meet these goals. These hospitals serve more than 90 percent of all patients admitted to hospitals in the state.
