THA members now can register for the Association’s first ever Virtual Legislative Day on the Hill.
The virtual event will include details about THA’s legislative agenda and priorities for the year and an opportunity for real-time outreach to state lawmakers via THA’s digital advocacy platform, Phone2Action. In addition, the event will feature remarks from Lt. Gov. Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge) and House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville).
In the current virtual environment, maintaining a visible presence with lawmakers is more critical than ever. Hospitals have many critical issues before the General Assembly this year, and connecting and maintaining dialogue with your legislators is essential to THA’s success.
While the opportunity for in-person visits with legislators is limited due to the pandemic, all member hospitals and health systems should reach out to their legislators to set video or phone meetings – or even in-person in Nashville or the district when possible – during the week of THA’s virtual advocacy day. It is imperative to make the voice of hospitals heard during the Day on the Hill week and throughout the legislative session.
THA’s recent publication, Hosting Events with Legislators at Your Facility: A Toolkit for Hospitals, can serve as a helpful resource in setting these meetings.
Registrants will receive materials and login instructions for the virtual Day on the Hill in advance.
Please note: THA members are responsible for scheduling their own visits with legislators, but staff are happy to provide assistance or support as needed. For questions or help, contact Lacey Blair.
