The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Rep. Sabi Kumar (R-Springfield) as a 2022 THA Hospital Hero for his dedication and work on behalf of hospitals in Tennessee.
THA Hospital Hero Awards recognize lawmakers who prioritize policy issues that contribute to the health and wellness of all Tennesseans through support for hospitals. Rep. Kumar was presented the 2022 award at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, with hospital and TriStar Health leadership in attendance.
“Rep. Kumar is a trusted voice for patient safety and public health in the Tennessee General Assembly,” said Wendy Long, M.D., THA president and CEO. “His clinical experience has positioned him as a champion for practical and realistic healthcare policy.”
As chairman of the House Insurance Committee, Rep. Kumar worked with hospitals to ensure coverage and payment for emergency services. His efforts are critical to support patient care and hospitals, including NorthCrest Medical Center.
