THA Recognizes Rep. Iris Rudder as a 2025 Hospital Hero

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Rep. Iris Rudder (R-Winchester) as a 2025 THA Hospital Hero for her dedication and work on behalf of hospitals in Tennessee.

THA Hospital Hero Awards recognize lawmakers who prioritize policy issues that contribute to the health and wellness of all Tennesseans through their support for hospitals. Rep. Rudder was presented with the 2025 award at Highpoint Health – Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas, with hospital and THA leadership in attendance.

“Rep. Rudder is a true legislative champion for Tennessee hospitals,” said Wendy Long, M.D., THA president and CEO. “She has continually dedicated her time, attention, and efforts to ensuring the long-term sustainability and strength of the hospital industry for years to come. Her ardent support of hospital priorities was key to the Association’s legislative success this year.”

Rep. Rudder’s continued leadership and support as a member of the Health Committee ensures access to quality care for patients at Tennessee hospitals, including Highpoint Health – Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas. “Rep. Rudder has been a longtime champion for Highpoint Health – Winchester and all rural Tennessee hospitals,” said Adam Martin, CEO of Highpoint Health-Winchester and Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas. “Her door is always open, and she is a respected voice for hospitals at the Capitol.
