The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Rep. Ryan Williams (R-Cookeville) as a 2024 THA Hospital Hero for his dedication and work on behalf of hospitals in Tennessee.
THA Hospital Hero Awards recognize lawmakers who prioritize policy issues that contribute to the health and wellness of all Tennesseans through their support for hospitals. Rep. Williams was presented the 2024 award at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, with hospital leadership in attendance.
“Representative Williams has been a long-trusted leader in healthcare and state financial policy and is always willing to engage to find meaningful solutions,” said Wendy Long, M.D., THA president and CEO. “We are exceptionally grateful for his understanding, support, and work to improve the outlook and position of the hospital industry in Tennessee.”
As chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee and a longtime member of the House Health Committee, Rep. Williams is uniquely positioned to provide leadership on significant hospital and healthcare issues impacting the industry, including Cookeville Regional.
“We are grateful to have proactive and passionate legislators in our district that support our medical center and the patients we serve. It truly takes all of us to come together and listen to each other to advocate for what is right in healthcare and best for patients. Representative Williams does that for us and all Tennesseans. He is always willing to meet with us here at Cookeville Regional to express his concerns and listen to ours so we can deliver on our mission to build healthier communities. We congratulate Representative Williams on receiving the THA Hospital Hero Award,” said Buffy Key, Chief Executive Officer at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
