For 30 years, the Tennessee Hospital Association’s Agenda 21 Internship Program helped shape the future of healthcare leadership in Tennessee. Established in 1995, the program connected graduate-level healthcare administration students with executive leaders in hospitals and health systems across the state, offering a meaningful opportunity to build knowledge, grow professionally, and take the first steps toward impactful careers in healthcare administration.

THA hosted the final cohort of the Agenda 21 Program in 2025 and will launch a new internship program in the summer of 2026. The NexGen: Tennessee Hospital Executive Internship is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s healthcare landscape, carrying forward a legacy built through the Agenda 21 Internship Program with a renewed commitment to developing the next generation of hospital leaders.
